Crítica: Path of Sorrow – Fearytales (2016)

Path of Sorrow es una banda de Death Metal melódico/Thrash formada en el año 2012 en Génova, Italia. En el 2014 los dos guitarristas y el batería fueron reemplazo y en consecuencia la dirección musical se enfocó en mayor medida en el Death Melódico.
En febrero del año 2016 y tras haber girado durante la primavera del 2015 junto a bandas como Necrodeath, Electrocution, The Modern Age Slavery, etc…, comienzan la grabación de su primer álbum de larga duración, titulado "Fearytales", en los Blackwave Studio de Fabio Palombi. A partir de junio, la banda empezó a buscar un sello para distribuir el disco y en septiembre firmaron por Buil2Kill Records.

Path of Sorrow han facturado un debut muy contundente y dinámico. En "Fearytales" encontramos muchos cambios de dirección, desde up-tempos y blast beats, hasta mid-tempos o incluso algún toque Progresivo en las líneas melódicas. Sobre todo el auténtico protagonismo es la melodía presente a lo largo de todo el álbum, a través de los riffs y los solos de guitarra, pero sin perder un ápice de agresividad debido a los growls y tonos medios rasgados del vocalista Mat y a la contundencia de Attila en la batería, por tanto y como comentaba anteriormente se hace un disco muy disfrutable de escuchar y en ningún momento da la sensación de estar ante un álbum monótono.
También encontraremos momentos puntuales de voces limpias, pero estas están colocadas de manera que no empaña en absoluto el resultado final.

Personalmente, destaco las canciones “Where The Nothing Gathers” y "Sea Of Blood", ya que contienen todos los elementos que todo buen disco de Death Metal melódico debería tener, melodía y dureza a partes iguales.

En definitiva, "Fearytales" es un disco que ningún fan de este género debería pasar la oportunidad de escuchar, ya que estoy seguro que se llevará una grata sorpresa.

Path of Sorrow is a Death Metal melodic / Thrash band formed in the year 2012 in Genoa, Italy. In the 2014 them two guitarists and drummer were replacement and accordingly the direction music is focused largely in the Death melodic.
In February of the year 2016 and after have have been touring during the spring of the 2015 with bands as Necrodeath, Electrocution, The Modern Age Slavery, etc…, begin the recording of their first album of long duration, entitled "Fearytales", in Blackwave Studio of Fabio Palombi. In June, the band began to search for a label to distribute the album, and in September they signed to Buil2Kill Records.

Path of Sorrow have invoiced a debut very forceful and dynamic. In "Fearytales" found many changes of direction, from up-tempos and blast beats, until mid-tempos or even some touch progressive in the lines melodic. Mostly the authentic prominence is it melody present along all the album, through them riffs and them guitar solos, but without losing an apex of aggressiveness due to them growls and tones media torn of the vocalist Mat and to the forcefulness of Attila in drums, therefore and as commented previously is makes a disc very enjoyable of listen and in no time gives it feeling of an album monotonous.

Personally, I highlight the song "Where The Nothing Gathers" and "Sea Of Blood", since it contains all the elements that all good melodic Death Metal album should have, melody and hardness in equal parts.

In short, "Fearytales" is a disc that any fan of this genre should pass the opportunity of listen, I am sure that not you disappoint.
