Crítica: A.H.P. – Against Human Plague (2016)

A.H.P (Against Human Plague) es el proyecto de Gulnar, cantante de la banda black metalera Illness. Su andadura comenzó en el año 2011 y un año más tarde grabó una demo titulada “Demo 2012”, la cual contó con tres temas. Este año 2016 lanzó su primer álbum de larga duración llamado “Against Human Plague” y en el que participaron como miembros de sesión Aro al bajo y Nerexo a la batería.

Con el álbum debut de A.H.P nos topamos con un regreso al sonido de los años dorados del Black Metal de Noruega donde predomina el sonido crudo, agresivo y oscuro. Los riffs desprenden un aura de maldad y odio que junto a la virulenta voz de Gulnar y la velocidad impregnada por la batería a base de blastbeats constantes nos transporta hacia un mundo donde la ira y la blasfemia es el denominador común. Como contraparte a lo descrito anteriormente, se encuentran otras canciones con un sonido ambiente, más propio del Drone, las cuales se encuentran inmediatamente después de cada una de las pistas de puro Black Metal, lo que en mi opinión es un punto negativo, ya que le resta mucho dinamismo al disco y no he sido capaz de entender qué es lo que puede aportar al conjunto del álbum.

Por otra parte, cabe destacar las versiones de War y Beherit de las canciones “Satan’s Millenium” y “Emotional Ecstasy”, ejecutadas a la perfección con respecto a las originales y sirviendo esta última como colofón óptimo del disco.

Es reseñable que “Against Human Plague” esté dedicado a Blackmoon, fundador de grupos como Dark Funeral o Necrophobic, fallecido hace 3 años. Considero que es todo un acierto, ya que si a alguien debemos agradecer por nuestra música y estilo de vida, es a aquellas personas que le dieron forma y la encumbraron.

En conclusión, “Against Human Plague” es un buen debut de auténtico Black Metal que no deberías perderte si te consideras fan de este estilo, aunque podría haber sumado algunos puntos si no fuera por las pistas de sonido ambiental.

A.H.P (Against Human Plague) is the project of Gulnar, singer in the band black metal Illness. His career began in the year 2011 and a year later he recorded a demo entitled "Demo 2012", which featured three themes. This year 2016 released their first full-length album called "Against Human Plague" and in which participated as session members Aro on bass and Nerexo on drums.

With the debut album of A.H.P we stumbled upon a return to the sound of the golden years of the Black Metal from Norway dominated the raw, aggressive and dark sound. The riffs emit an aura of malice and hatred that speed impregnated by battery based on constant blastbeats and virulent Gulnar voice transports us to a world where anger and blasphemy is the common denominator. As a counterpart to that described above, other songs are with a sound environment, more typical of the Drone, which are immediately after each of the tracks of pure Black Metal, which in my opinion is a negative point, since subtracts much dynamism to the album and I have not been able to understand what they can bring to the whole of the album.

On the other hand, notably covers of War and Beherit of songs "Satan’s Millenium" and "Emotional Ecstasy", executed perfectly with respect to the original and serving this last like optimum culmination of the album.

It is noteworthy that "Against Human Plague" is dedicated to Blackmoon, founder of bands such as Dark Funeral and Necrophobic, died 3 years ago. I believe that it is a success, since if someone should thank for our music and lifestyle, it is those people who gave way and made it.

In conclusion, "Against Human Plague" is a good debut of true Black Metal which you should not miss if you consider yourself a fan of this style, although it could have added some points if it were not for the environmental audio tracks.
