Crítica: Zerobyte – IX Degrees Of Human Decline (2016)

Hace 10 años el gobierno decidió financiar el proyecto "Alma Robótica". Éste consistía en la creación de una serie de ciborgs a los que se les incluiría algunos órganos humanos, dando así el comienzo de lo que se suponía iba a ser una nueva era para nuestra raza. A los primeros prototipos se les incluyó corazón y piel creada a base de células madre. Más tarde se creó un cerebro sintético. Los autómatas parecían pensar, sentir y percibir la vida como cualquier persona de este mundo. Al finalizar una serie de protocolos de seguridad se procedió a  su comercialización. Primero se usaban como simples sirvientes o acompañantes. Después se llegó a un punto en el que estaban tan integrados en la sociedad que empezaron a exigir los mismos derechos que sus creadores. Poco después iniciaron las primeras revueltas entre ambas formas de vida. No tardamos en ser conscientes de que su intención era darle la vuelta a la situación. Querían que fuésemos sus esclavos. Intentamos poner medidas para terminar con esta circunstancia, pero ya era demasiado tarde. La guerra contra las maquinas nació y su superioridad era terrible. No solo eran más fuertes, si no también más inteligentes. Crearon su propia fábrica donde su construcción era incesante. Comenzaron a introducir topos en nuestros ejércitos, para de este modo destruirnos desde dentro. Ahora vivimos en pequeños guetos subterráneos, intentando subsistir en un planeta donde ya no somos la raza dominante. Solo nos queda la esperanza de poder reconquistar lo que una vez fue nuestro. Meses de investigación y desarrollo de un arma que emite un campo electromagnético que los inhabilita por varias horas al fin había dado sus frutos. Para esa tarea 10 de los mejores científicos del mundo, entre los cuales estoy incluido trabajamos duramente para conseguir hacer funcionar el artefacto. El plan era llegar a la factoría maestra, inutilizarlos y destruir el ordenador central que se encarga de su producción masiva. Una vez conseguido, y aún en estado de "coma inducido" acabaríamos con todos ellos. Para esta tarea obviamente iría el mejor y más preparado batallón de la resistencia. La incertidumbre y la esperanza de nuestra especie recae en nosotros. Una cosa está realmente clara, si no conseguimos inutilizarlos en menos de una década acabaran con todos los individuos de la Tierra…… 
Bienvenidos al mundo de terror tecnológico de Zerobyte. Ahora puedes hacer algo con tu miserable vida y luchar por todo lo que algún día fue importante para ti. O por el contrario perecer a manos de esos engendros mecánicos.

 
Zerobyte es un combo de djent / death metal con elementos de math metal procedentes de Inca (Islas Baleares). Comenzaron su carrera en 2010. Tres años más tarde publicaron su primer E.P "Zerobyte", dando así a conocer su potencial destructivo al mundo. 
Ahora en 2016 nos traen al fin su primer larga duración bautizado con el nombre de "IX Degrees Of Human Decline", el cual es el protagonista de estas inhumanas esquelas. 
 
El line up es el siguiente: Albert (voz), Biel (guitarra), Javi ( guitarra), Joan ( bajo), Pedro (batería). 
 
En este primer asalto el grupo nos presenta una obra potente y sin fisuras. El medio tempo y las réplicas guitarras batería son la tónica compositiva en este futurista y apocalíptico redondo. Sin embargo no os preocupéis ya que no olvidan totalmente las partes veloces. Por otro lado, adornan su propuesta con leves y puntuales pinceladas de teclado, introducidas con muy buen gusto, que no solo no saturan si no que hacen introducirte mejor en su universo. 
La producción está a la altura de las circunstancias, obteniendo un sonido destensado y devastador. 
 
Los riffs están en constante cambio. Son tremendamente rítmicos, bien elaborados y ligeramente intrincados, con pequeños matices de dobles armonías y solos. 
 
Las voces se basan en deathgrowls desgarrados pero sin llegar a ser excesivamente bajos. Podrían recordarte a tonos como el de Zoltán Farkas de Ektomorf por poner un ejemplo. 
 
Las baterías están realmente marcadas. Como comentaba un poco más arriba hacen la "contestación" del riff, con lo que ya sabes que el doble bombo es demoledor. 
 
Al termino de esta descripción global, pasemos a comentar los mejores tracks de este disco. 
Personalmente destacaría "Emulating Gods", "Cogito Ergo Sum" y "Spherical Implosion" por los siguientes motivos: 
 
"Emulating Gods" es sin duda el tema más dinámico y poderoso de toda esta acometida. Así es como se debe de comenzar un L.P sí señor. 
 
"Cogito Ergo Sum" te enganchará pos los buenos cambios de dirección que incluye. Te vendrá a la mente la palabra TREPIDANTE, avisado quedas. 
 
"Spherical Implosion" te muestra un buen solo de guitarra del cual estoy seguro disfrutarás sobremanera. La pregunta es por que no han usado más este recurso.

Este conjunto es realmente prometedor y sabe hacer bien las cosas, así que habrá que seguirles la pista muy de cerca. Por cierto, si eres fan de Fear Factory o Meshuggah hazme caso, y cuando acabes de leer esta review póntelo de inmediato.

We now live in small ghettos underground, trying to survive on a planet where we are no longer the dominant race. Only we hope to be able to regain what once was ours. Months of research and development of a weapon that emits an electromagnetic field which disables them for several hours at the end had borne fruit. Zerobyte is a djent / death metal band with elements of math metal from Inca (Balearic Islands). They started their career in 2010. Three years later published their first E.P. "Zerobyte", thereby giving the world aware of its destructive potential.

Now in 2016 bring us to the end their first full length baptized with the name of "IX Degrees Of Human Decline”, which is the protagonist of these inhuman obituaries.

The line up is as follows: Albert (voice), Biel (guitar), Javi (guitar), Joan (bass), Pedro (drums).

In this first album, Zerobyte presents a powerful and seamless work. The medium tempo and replica guitars/drums are the compositional pattern in this futuristic and apocalyptic round. However do not worry since do not forget completely the fast parts. On the other hand, decorate your proposal with minor and occasional keyboard touches, introduced with very good taste, that not only do not saturate if that do not get better in their universe.

The production is to rise to the occasion, relieved and devastating sound.

The riffs are in constant change. They are extremely rhythmic, well prepared and slightly intricate, with small nuances of double harmonies and solos.

The voices are based on torn deathgrowls but without being too low. They could remember tones as the of Zoltan Farkas of Ektomorf for example.

The drums are actually marked. As I mentioned above make the "answer" riff, so already you know that the double bass is devastating.

At the end of this global description, let us discuss the best tracks on this album.

Personally would stress "Emulating Gods“, "Cogito Ergo Sum” and "Spherical Implosion” for the following reasons:

"Emulating Gods" is without a doubt the most dynamic and powerful all this album. This is how you must start a L.P

"Cogito Ergo Sum" will hook you towards good direction changes including.

"Spherical Implosion" shows a good solo guitar which I am sure will enjoy greatly. The question is why have not more used this resource.

This band is really promising and well do things, so you will have to track them closely. By the way, if you’re a fan of Fear Factory or Meshuggah don’t ignore me, and when you’re done reading this review play it immediately.
