Aquella casa abandonada fue escogida por su ubicación a las afueras de la ciudad para llevar a cabo nuestros rituales. Disponía de un amplio sótano que en unos meses habituamos. Lo primero que hicimos fue pintar el enorme pentáculo en el suelo. Para ello, usamos sangre de animales abandonados. Los descuartizábamos, y sus huesos adornaban la estancia. Ahora, una vez más bajábamos por aquellas escaleras, vestidos con nuestra amplia túnica blanca. Hoy era el día elegido para traer al maestro de vuelta. Zā Lä Thü es un combo de Industrial Extreme Metal procedentes de Alabama. Iniciaron su carrera en 1995 bajo el nombre de The Awakened One. Años más tarde cambiaron de seudónimo por el de Aethyria, hasta que finalmente en 2012 adoptaron su actual apelativo. Precisamente en ese mismo año el mundo vio nacer a su primera demo "The Ritual of the Abyss". En 2013 apareció la que hasta la fecha es su última maqueta "77+ (7+7)/7 +77=156". Finalmente, el 31 de octubre de 2015 editaron su primer L.P homónimo "Zā Lä Thü", el cual es el culpable de que existan estas truculentas esquelas.
El line up es el siguiente: The Awakened One (guitarras, voces, bajo y programador de batería secuenciada. Ex componente de Butchery, ex-The Awakened One, ex-Æthyria, ex-Narcolepsy), Katera (voz. Asimismo forma parte de 69 Noses).
En este primer asalto el dúo nos brinda una obra diferente e intensa, donde su principales bazas son las decadentes líneas vocales y sus poderosas guitarras. Se podría decir que lo aquí brindado es perfecto para usarlo de banda sonora de película de terror de serie b de los años 80. Por otro lado, la producción es terriblemente sintética pero no llega a resultar fría. Cabe recalcar que las tres primeras tonadas son el grueso del redondo. Después, experimentan un bajón de intensidad del que salen de manera irregular. Otro de sus problemas son las pinceladas de electrónicas que llegan a chirrían en exceso en según que partes. Pero a pesar de todo lo dicho, el disco se deja de oír realmente bien.
Los riffs son siniestros, fluidos y contundentes. Adjuntan dobles armonías aderezándolo todo con puntuales y correctos solos de guitarra e instantes en limpio.
En cuanto a registros de voz, los que predominan son los femeninos, con leves incursiones de tonos masculinos.
La batería programada tiende al mid tiempo. Sin embargo encontramos alguna sorpresa en forma de up y blast beats.
Al termino de esta descripción general pasemos a comentar brevemente los mejores tracks de esta acometida.
En mi opinión destacaría "The Enslaved Walk Free", "To Bind and Purge (Cosmic Dith·er)" y "Vril Machine" por los siguientes motivos:
El estribillo de "The Enslaved Walk Free" se te quedará a fuego grabado en el cerebro.
En "To Bind and Purge (Cosmic Dith·er)" la vena más death metal emerge sin complejos. Por cierto, os toparéis de lleno con los blast beats que comentaba un poco más arriba.
"Vril Machine" te enganchará por su estructuración y dinamismo.
