De repente la nada. Pasé de un estado de no existencia a encontrarme en medio de un enorme vacío. Me preguntaba cuales eran mis orígenes y como había llegado ahí, pero por mucho que gritaba nadie respondía a mis preguntas. Estaba completamente solo en esta infinita oscuridad. Durante eones percibía como mi cordura se iba resquebrajando, hasta que llegó un punto que abracé de buena gana mi propia locura. Mi aislamiento hizo que creara un nuevo concepto. Lo llamaría tiempo. Por aquellos entonces no tenía muy claro como hacer que funcionase para que tuviera total lógica, pero desde mi punto de vista pasó muchísimo de éste antes de que empezase mi obra. Cada cierto periodos, lo cuales cada vez resultaron más extensos, entraba como en una especie de trance. Dejaba de ser consciente de mi mismo para introducirme en otra realidad. Podía ver una serie de imágenes. Cada vez que volvía en sí parte de esa negrura desaparecía, ya que todo lo que vislumbraba en mis ensoñaciones se hacía realidad. Pensé que si podía hacer esto mientras dormía tendría que poder estando despierto. Finalmente conseguí dominar la habilidad. Al principio y como era de esperar de manera tosca, para después ir cogiendo destreza. Como colofón inicié la creación de infinitos mundos. Dependiendo de mi estado de animo, el interior de estos planetas podía ser violento o por el contrario calmado. Hice que aparecieran en su interior lo que denominé montañas, solidas y resistentes. Después llegaron los mares, siempre inquietantes y preciosos a la par. Pero había un problema, todo seguía en penumbra, así que remedié esa situación. Hice aparecer unos enormes astros que alumbraban mi firmamento. La llegada de estos luceros tuvieron un efecto diferente en cada globo. Había uno que le tenía especial cariño e hice que evolucionara más rápido que el resto. Después de tanto trabajo me sentía satisfecho, y aún más cuando introduje vida en él. Con el paso de las eras la raza dominante lo llamaría Tierra. Esto me produjo durante millones de años horas infinitas de diversión, disfrutando de todos y cada uno de los amaneceres y anocheceres que contemplé, jugando con mis "juguetes" día tras día. Ahora a llegado el momento de que todo acabe. La diversión hace mucho que acabó y los humanos ya no me producen ningún tipo de curiosidad. Será increíble hacer que tantas almas desaparezcan a la vez, y la verdad que la idea me hace disfrutar sobremanera. Después haré lo mismo con el resto de mi construcción cósmica. Un nuevo comienzo está cerca, y ninguno de mis pequeños e insignificantes seres sobrevivirán.
Bienvenidos al universo de Pile Of Priests. El apocalipsis está muy cerca.

Pile Of Priests es un combo de death thrash metal / Prog death metal procedentes de Estados Unidos. Iniciaron su carrera en 2009. Un año más tarde editaron su primera maqueta "Burn" devastando todo lo que se le ponía a su paso con su propuesta sonora. En 2011 nos llegó su E.P "Unholy Death". Este Extended Play fue la antesala de lo que todos los fanáticos de la banda esperaban ya con gran ansiedad, que no era otra cosa que su primer Larga Duración. Pero para que esto sucediera tuvieron que esperar cuatro largos años. Como conclusión, el 12 de diciembre de 2015 el underground extremo acogió con los brazos abiertos su primer L.P "Void to Enlightenment" siendo este asalto el culpable de que estas apocalípticas esquelas hayan sido creadas.
El line up es el siguiente: Patrick Leyn (bajo. Además en Centimani), Evan Salvador (guitarra y voz. A su vez forma parte de Lord Dahthar, ex-Thorns of Acanthus), Evan Knight (batería. Asimismo presta sus servicios en Suns of Sorath, ex-Dremaura).
En este primer ataque estos tipos nos ofrendan un redondo sin titubeos y con personalidad propia. El conjunto sabe muy bien donde está su sitio y cual es el camino a seguir. El plástico es realmente dinámico, donde el tedio o el desinterés no tienen cabida.
A pesar de que la composición en general está muy trabajada, y el nivel es realmente loable, les falta un ligero empujón para llegar a lo más alto. La producción es nítida y muy real, pero carece de potencia, restándole enteros a lo aquí expuesto. Estoy convencido que de seguro todo esto para próximos lanzamientos será ajustado y mejorado.
El escaparate de riffs es inmenso, incluyendo una cantidad increíble por tonada. Los encontramos fluidos, a una cuerda, inteligentes partes en limpio y otros de carácter grandilocuente. Todo ello aderezado con largos y sanguinarios solos de guitarra. ASÍ SÍ.
En cuanto a voces se refiere nos topamos con intensos growl que te desmembraran sin remisión.
La batería es un maremágnum de cambios de dirección. Up y mid tempos conviven en perfecta armonía con la presencia de algún que otro blast beat. Muy buen trabajo en este instrumento.
La sorpresa llega de unas líneas de bajo muy reseñables. Lejos de estar en un segundo plano como suele pasar con este instrumento, aquí nos asombraremos con la labor de Patrick.
Al termino de esta descripción general pasemos a comentar brevemente los mejores tracks de esta acometida.
Personalmente destacaría "Deranged Youth Succession" y "Incantations of Old" por las siguientes razones:
"Deranged Youth Succession" te enseña con creces todas las cualidades que comentaba un poco más arriba. Los cambalaches de recorrido tienen una clase innegable. Cuidado, no apto para cardíacos. El subidón de adrenalina es inevitable.
"Incantations of Old" cierra este embiste de una manera espectacular. Fuerza a raudales, instantes carentes de distorsión, velocidad, pesadez y un solo de bajo será lo que te hagan de decir en alto "estos chicos tienen algo especial".
Buen debut de un grupo con un claro potencial. Una vez que pulan unos lógicos y obvios fallos serán una maquina imparable. Yo de vosotros no les perdería ni la pista ni la oportunidad de oírlos.

Pile Of Priests is a death thrash metal / Prog death metal band from United States. They began their career in 2009. A year later they released their first demo "Burn" devastating everything that was put in its path with its sound proposal. In 2011, we got their E.P "Unholy Death". This Extended Play was the prelude to all fans of the band expected already with great anxiety the first long duration. But to make this happen they had to wait four long years. In conclusion, on 12th December, 2015 released their first L.P "Void to Enlightenment" being the culprit of these apocalyptic obituaries have been created.

In this first album these types offer us an album with own personality. The band knows very well where is your site and which is the road to follow. The album is really dynamic
The composition in general is very worked, and the level is really commendable. The production is crisp and very real, but lacks power. I am convinced that will be adjusted and improved in next albums.
The showcase of riffs is immense, including an incredible amount by songs. Find them to a string, fluids, smart parts in clean and others bombastic character. All this spiced with long and bloodthirsty solos of guitar.
Voices are intense growl that dismember you without remission.
Drums is a maremagnum of changes. Up and mid tempos coexist in perfect harmony with the presence of some blast beat. Very good work on this instrument.
The surprise comes from some lines of bass very notable. Far from being in a second flat as usually occurs with this instrument, here amaze us with the work of Patrick.
Personally would highlight "Deranged Youth Succession" and "Incantations of Old" for the following reasons:
"Deranged Youth Succession" show all the qualities that commented a little more up. Tempo changes have a class undeniable. Beware, not suitable for the faint-hearted. The rush of adrenaline is inevitable.
“Incantations of Old" closes the album in a spectacular way. Powerful, moments without distortion, speed, heaviness and a solo of bass will be what you make to say, these guys have something special.
Good debut from a band with a clear potential. Once brush up on some logical and obvious failures will be a machine unstoppable.
