Destroyers of All es una banda de Death/Prog formada en el año 2011, procedente de Coimbra, Portugal. El primer EP “Into the Fire” fue lanzado en el año 2013 y el primer álbum de larga duración, titulado “Bleak Fragments”, vio la luz el 18 de Marzo del año 2016.

Hablar del debut de Destroyers of All y quedarse con la etiqueta Death progresivo es quedarse corto, muy corto. Estos chicos han conseguido congeniar tal cantidad de estilos y aderezar las canciones con tantos matices, que necesitarás más de dos escuchas para disfrutarlo por completo.
Los cambios de ritmo y de dirección estilística son una constante a lo largo de los 60 minutos de duración del disco y lo cierto, es que a pesar de su larga duración, no se hace aburrido, aunque si que pueden llegar a abrumar tantos detalles. Tanto las canciones “Hollow Words”, como “Hate Through Violence” o “Death Healer” tienen una vertiente más Thrash/Death, pero también hay espacio para el jazz y las voces limpias en “Speed of Mind”, recordando a los momentos más experimentales de Cynic, incluso añaden una sección de instrumentos de viento en su última parte que no desentona en absoluto. Por otra parte, también es curioso el hecho de que hagan un pequeño tributo a su tierra, iniciando la canción “Tormento” con un fado para dar paso seguidamente al metal técnico característico de Destroyers of All; una combinación muy interesante.
En definitiva, un álbum muy completo que se nota que está muy trabajado, pero al que quizás le falta un punto de consistencia entre unas canciones y otras, aunque no por ello deja de ser un buen disco. Si te gusta el metal técnico en todas sus variantes, no dejes de darle una oportunidad.

Destroyers of All is a Death / Prog band formed in the year 2011, coming from Coimbra, Portugal. The first EP "Into the Fire" was released in the year 2013 and the first full-length album, titled "Bleak Fragments", was released on March 18, 2016.
Talk about the debut of Destroyers of All and stay with the label progressive Death is an understatement, too short. These guys have managed to harmonize so many styles and dress the songs with many nuances, you will need more than two listeners to enjoy it completely.
Pace and stylistic direction changes are a constant throughout the 60-minute of the disc and the truth is that despite their long duration, not becomes boring, even if that may overwhelm many details. Both songs "Hollow Words", as "Hate Through Violence" or "Death Healer" have a more Thrash/Death shed, but there is also space for jazz and clean voices in the song "Speed of Mind", reminiscent of the most experimental of Cynic moments, even added a section of wind instruments in its last part that is not at odds at all. On the other hand, is also curious the fact that made a small tribute to their land, starting with a fado song "Tormento" then give way to the characteristic of the Destroyers of All technical metal; a very interesting combination.
In short, a very full album that feels that it is elaborate, but perhaps missing a point of consistency between some songs and others, although not for this reason ceases to be a good album. If you like technical metal in all its variants, you must give it a chance.
