Deathstorm es una banda austriaca de old school Thrash Metal que ya cuenta con un EP y un LP, los cuales preceden a un segundo EP llamado “The Gallows” lanzado en el verano del año 2015. Aunque anteriormente, cuando la banda se hacía llamar Damage, sacaron dos demos.

“The Gallows” presenta cuatro canciones en las que la influencia de los primeros Kreator o Slayer es palpable de principio a fin y perfectamente podríamos estar hablando de una banda de mediados de los ochenta. Desde el primer tema “Consummate Horror”, lo que predomina son los cambios de ritmo, los solos desquiciados y una voz feroz que destila odio y rabia en cada palabra exhalada. El inconveniente es que en ocasiones todo se vuelve tan rítmicamente caótico, dando la sensación de que las guitarras van por un lado, el bajo y la batería por otro y la voz por otro, que la descompensación con la melodía rompe con el equilibrio sonoro de las canciones, como ocurre en “From Oblivion”.
Deathstorm es una de esas bandas surgidas a raíz del revival del Thrash y muy posiblemente gustará a los fans de este género y en especial, en sus comienzos. Atentos, porque dentro de poco saldrá a la luz su segundo larga duración.

Deathstorm is an Austrian band of old school Thrash Metal, which already has an EP and an LP, which precede a second EP called "The Gallows", released in the summer of 2015. Although previously, when the band was called Damage, they released two demos.
"The Gallows" features four songs in which the influence of the early Kreator or Slayer is obvious from start to finish and perfectly we could be talking about a band of the mid eighties. From the first theme "Consummate Horror", what predominates are changes of pace, deranged solos and a fierce voice flowing with hate and rage in every word exhaled. The downside is that sometimes everything becomes so rhythmically chaotic, giving the sensation of guitars are on one side, the bass and the battery on the other and the voice on the other, that the decompensation with Melody breaks with the sound of the songs balance, as in "From Oblivion".
Deathstorm is one of those bands that emerged as a result of the revival of Thrash and quite possibly like fans of this genre, and especially in the beginning of Thrash Metal. Attentive, soon will come to light their second full length.
