Sentía como un cálido liquido corría por mi pecho. Intentaba recordar que había pasado mientras mi respiración entrecortada se hacía cada vez más veloz. Estaba tendido en el suelo, observando como el charco de sangre que salía de mi crecía lenta e inexorablemente. Vi como aquel hombre hurgaba en mi ropa. Me sustrajo el poco dinero que había en mi cartera y salió corriendo. Ahora por primera vez en mi existencia supe lo que valía mi vida. Tan solo un par de billetes. Pensé en mi mujer e hijos. Mientras, mi percepción de la realidad cambiaba a cada segundo. No se cuanto tiempo pasó hasta que mi corazón finalmente se detuvo. No vi ninguna luz ni túnel. Tampoco vi pasar mis experiencias a cámara rápida. Durante unos instantes estaba en la más absoluta nada. Entonces noté como mi alma salía de mi cuerpo. Allí estaba mirándome a mi mismo desde arriba. Era pura energía, recubierto por mis propios recuerdos y vivencias. Observé lo que tenía ante mi . El mundo había cambiado por completo. Todo estaba envuelto en una espesa y pesada capa de oscuridad. A mi alrededor solo había ánimas moribundas que intentaban atraparme. Procuré escapar de ellas. No entendía por que deseaban apresarme, y un sentimiento de pavor me inundó. En ese momento, ante mi se abrió un camino hacia un bosque de color grisáceo. El tiempo apremiaba, y si no quería ser atrapado tendría que arriesgarme a explorar esa nueva zona. Me adentré en la tétrica arboleda. En ese instante un potente fogonazo iluminó todo el paraje. Ese resplandor había alertado a mis captores delatando mi posición. Segundos más tarde estaba rodeado y sin escapatoria. Se acercaban pausadamente hacia mi disfrutando de la caza. En aquel momento comenzaron a absorber mi energía. Mientras notaba que volvía una vez más a aquel agujero negro, a aquel limbo del cual jamás podría regresar.
Bienvenidos al universo inmisericorde de Amiensus. ¿Cuanto tiempo aguantarás antes de que te arrebaten tu fuerza vital y llegar al purgatorio?

Amiensus es un combo de post black/ avant garde metal procedentes de Estados Unidos. Comenzaron su carrera en 2010. Lanzaron su primer E.P "The Last EP" en el mismo año de su creación como banda.
Tres años más tarde publicaron su primer Larga Duración "Restoration", dejando a la parroquia blacker asombrada con este asalto, dando así el pistoletazo de salida oficial a su andadura en este mundillo.
En ese mismo año nos ofrecieron el single "Promethean", y el split compartido junto con Oak Pantheon "Gathering".
Al año siguiente nos llego el sencillo "Wolfhead’s Tree", sirviendo para crear expectativas para lo que sería su nuevo L.P.
Finalmente el 1 de julio de 2015 llegó a nuestras manos su nuevo y flamante álbum bautizado con el nombre de "Ascension", siendo éste por supuesto la razón de que estas putrefactas esquelas hallan sido creadas.
El line up es el siguiente: Zack Morgenthaler (guitarra solista y teclados), Alec Rozsa (guitarras , teclados y voces. Miembro también de Idolum, ex-Archangel), James Benson (guitarra y voces. Asimismo en Adora Vivos), Aaron McKinney (guitarra y voces), D. Todd Farnham (bajo. A su vez forma parte de Invidiosus), Julia Holter (voz), Matthew Paulazzo (batería. Además en Astral Blood, Sarasvati, Upon His Flesh).
En este nuevo asalto los de Michigan nos presentan una obra cuya base musical es el "metal negro", aunque sus composiciones se expanden a terrenos totalmente alejados del susodicho género. Aquí no hay limites, miedos o cortapisas compositivos. El trabajo es tan iracundo, siniestro y apocalíptico, como intimista o dramático.
El escaparate de riffs es inmenso. Los hallaremos sucios y veloces. Pero también acústicos o carentes de distorsión, creando unos contrastes realmente elaborados. Todo ello aderezado con unos más que buenos solos de guitarra.
Las tonalidades vocales no podrían ser mas cambiantes. Tropezamos por supuesto con shrieks. Pero a su vez con deathgrowls, barítonos rasgados y limpios, añadiendo por supuesto matices de registros femeninos.
Las baterías están en un constante cambalache de dirección. Sin embargo si te preguntas que es lo que predomina, la respuesta sería claramente los med tempos. A pesar de haber leído esto no te asustes, ya que los momentos de velocidad no te faltarán.
Al termino de esta descripción global pasemos a comentar los mejores tracks de este redondo.
Personalmente destacaría "On These Deserted Plains", "Towards Horizon", "One in Spirit" y "What Evil Lay Dorment" por los siguientes motivos:
"On These Deserted Plains" y "What Evil Lay Dorment" nos muestra en un principio la cara más salvaje de grupo para después acabar moviéndose con estribillos claros tanto de voz de mujer en la primera, como de voz rasgada masculina en la segunda. Dos latigazos adictivos y sin contemplaciones que muestran todo el potencial que estos individuos poseen.
"Towards Horizon" exhibe la faceta más sensible del conjunto. Facturan un doble ataque de tonos pulcros en las voces, aunque conforme llegamos al fin de esta tonada, estalla con un solo melódico realmente bueno y con feroces shrieks.
Si buscáis un med tempo de pulso rápido y momentos pesados y rítmicos "One in Spirit" es vuestra canción. Aunque os advierto que en su primera mitad es todo lo contrario. Pero creedme, haréis headbanging.
Si eres un purista de este tipo de metal extremo dudo sinceramente que te llegue a interesar. Pero si por el contrario eres de mente abierta, y deseas conocer nuevos horizontes musicales, debes darle una oportunidad a este ataque. En tu mano queda esa decisión.

I felt a liquid running for my breast. I tried remember that had happens meanwhile my breathing was becoming increasingly fast. It was stretched in the soil, observing as the puddle of blood that was going out of my body was growing slowly and inexorably. I saw as that man was poking in my clothes. He stoled a little bit of money and he went out running. Now, for the first time in my existence, I knew what was costing my life. Only a couple of bills. I thought about my wife and children. While, my perception of the reality was changing to every second. Not all the time happened until my heart finally stopped. I saw neither any light nor tunnel. I did not also see to pass my experiences quickly. Then I felt as my soul was going out of my body. There I was looking at myself from the ceiling. I was a pure energy, covered by my own recollections and experiences. The world had changed completely. Everything was wrapped in a thick and heavy darkness. Around me only there were moribund souls that were trying to catch me. I tried to escape of them. I was not dealing for that they wanted to catch me, and a feeling fear flooded me. In this moment, a way appeared in front of me. The time was urging, and if I did not want to be caught I would have to risk exploring this new zone. I entered the dismal grove. In this instant a powerful flash illuminated the whole place. This radiance had been alert to my captors betraying my position. Seconds later I was surrounded and without loophole. They were approaching to me slowly. In that moment they began to absorb my energy. While I was felt that I was returning once again to that black hole, to that limbo from which I might never return.
Welcome the universe of Amiensus. How long are you going to hold out before they snatch your vital force and to come to the purgatory?
Amiensus is a Post Black/Avantgarde Metal band from U.S.A. They started their career in 2010. They released their first E.P "The Last EP" in that year. Three years later, they released their first long play “Restoration” making to the parish blacker amazed with this assault.

In this new assault those of Michigan us present a work which musical base is black metal, though their compositions expand to areas totally removed from the above-mentioned genre. Here there are no limits, fears or conditions compositives. The album is so irate, sinister and apocalyptic, as intimist one or dramatist.
The shop window of riffs is immense. We will find them dirty and fast. But also acoustic or lacking in distortion, creating a few really elaborated contrasts. All this adorned with some more that good solos of guitar.
The vocal tonalities might not be more changeable. We stumble certainly with shrieks. But in turn with deathgrowls, torn and clean baritones, adding certainly tint of feminine records.
The drums are in a constant change of direction. Nevertheless if you ask yourself that it is what prevails, the response would be clearly the med tempoes.
At the conclusion of this global description let’s pass to comment on the best tracks of this album.
Personally I would emphasize "On These Deserted Plains", "Towards Horizon", "One in Spirit" and "What Evil Lay Dorment" for the following motives:
"On These Deserted Plains" and "What Evil Lay Dorment" shows us in a beginning the wildest face of the band later to finish moving with clear refrains so much of woman’s voice in the first one, and a masculine voice in the second one. Two addictive lashes and without contemplations that show the whole potential that these individuals possess.
"Towards Horizon" exhibits the most sensitive facet of the set. They invoice a double assault of exquisite tones in the voices, though as we come to the end of this tune, it explodes with a melodic solo really good and with ferocious shrieks.
If you look for a med tempo of rapid pulse and heavy and rhythmic moments, "One in Spirit" is your song. Though I you warn that in the first half it is everything opposite. But believe me, you will do headbanging.
If you are a purist of this type of extreme metal I doubt sincerely that manages you to interest. But if on the contrary you are of mind opened, and you want to know new musical horizons, must give it an opportunity to this assault. In your hand this decision stays.
