Crítica: ADE – Carthago Delenda Est (2016)

Estábamos subidos en aquel enorme elefante. Mientras disparábamos nuestras flechas al enemigo llegué a sentirme increíblemente poderoso, incluso intocable. Miré a mi alrededor y la escena era dantesca. Las tropas romanas habían irrumpido en nuestra ciudad pensando que seríamos un blanco fácil. Que equivocados estaban. Nuestro ejercito se desplegó de inmediato. Con total sincronía, cada soldado se encontraba en su puesto defendiendo lo que era suyo, y dispuesto a matar o morir antes de permitir ser doblegado por cualquier centurión. 
Parecía que conseguiríamos mantenerlos a raya y ganar la contienda. Sus bajas se incrementaban cada vez más, mientras que las nuestras eran mínimas. Cuando parecía que todo estaba prácticamente ganado, todos los presentes pudimos escuchar aquel sonido de trompeta. Estos bastardos nos habían echo creer que podríamos vencer. Su estrategia fue bien simple. Mandaron una serie de pequeños batallones que sirvieron para tantear nuestras fuerzas. Cuando supieron de que éramos capaces, y habiendo estudiado bien la situación, los oficiales de alto mando ordenaron que entrara la segunda avanzadilla. En ese instante, una marabunta humana apareció gritando ferozmente. Segundos más tarde derribaron a mi compañero. Vi como una flecha le atravesaba la garganta, saliendo un chorro de sangre a presión. A su vez derribaron al enorme paquidermo. En los segundos que duró la caída llegué a ser consciente de que no saldría de esta. Por alguna extraña razón percibí aquellos instantes de forma diferente. Todo se movía muy lentamente, incluido yo. Me reincorporé como pude. Cogí una espada que se encontraba a mi derecha y me dispuse a seguir batallando. En mi cabeza y oídos solo se encontraba el ensordecedor sonido de la guerra. Alaridos por doquier y ese inconfundible hedor a sangre impregnaba el suelo.  En aquel preciso momento, mientras que mi mente desconectó por tan solo unas centésimas me atravesaron con una lanza. Miré hacia abajo. Pude ver como la madera y la punta de metal chorreaban el inequívoco liquido carmesí. Caí de rodillas. La respiración se volvió dificultosa a la par que dolorosa. Grité de miedo y frustración. Sabía que mi hora había llegado. Solo esperaba que en última instancia mi mujer e hijos sobrevivieran a esta masacre. 
Bienvenidos al violento universo de ADE. ¿Estás listo para la contienda?

 
ADE es un combo de death metal/ Ancient Roman music procedentes de Italia. Iniciaron su carrera en 2007. Un año más tarde lanzaron su primer E.P "Ultima Ratio" poniendo de esta forma la primera de las piedras para crear su reinado de terror. 
En 2009 nos llegó su primer Larga Duración "Prooemivm Sangvine", donde demostraban con creces que no eran un grupo más dentro del "metal muerto", haciendo las delicias de la parroquia extrema. 
Meses después apareció un nuevo Extended Play titulado simplemente "Promo 2009".  
Al termino de un parón compositivo de 4 años, el mundo vio nacer a su segundo plástico " Spartacus", convenciendo a sus seguidores una vez más.  
Ahora tres años después llega a nuestras manos "Carthago Delenda Est". Editado bajo el manto del sello Xtreme music, este L.P es el culpable de que estas esquelas hallan sido creadas. 
 
El line up es el siguiente: Traianvs (voz. A su vez en Symbolyc, ex-Winter Mist), Fabivs (guitarra. Ex-Night Silence, ex-Lord Vampyr, ex-Shining Void), Caligvla (bajo. Además forma parte de Damneds), Nero (guitarra solista. Asimismo presta sus servicios en  Blood Legion, ex-Elarmir), Commodvs (batería.  Aparte lo encontraremos en  Bloodtruth, ex-Five Hundred Murders, ex-Steel Crow, ex-Gôr Mörgûl (live) ). 
 
En esta nueva arremetida los italianos nos ofrecen una obra ambiciosa, repleta de buenos y constantes cambalaches de dirección en todas las tonadas, atreviéndose incluso con matices de Prog Djent en "Scipio Intomitus Victor". Por otro lado, incluyen buenas pinceladas de teclado en su propuesta. A pesar de que no molesta esta última característica, tampoco aporta nada. 
 
Los riffs son fluidos, conteniendo un gran número de los susodichos por corte. Los encontraremos pesados, con instantes de técnica extra y a una cuerda. Todo ello aderezado con buenos solos de guitarra. 
 
En cuanto a registros vocales, nos muestran por supuesto los imprescindibles growls, momentos limpios, y guturales agudos rasgados. 
 
Los ritmos de percusión se desplazan tanto en brutales blast beats como en contundentes med tempos. Si te preguntas que predomina, si la velocidad o la contundencia, la respuesta sería lo segundo.  
 
Al termino de esta descripción global pasemos a comentar brevemente los mejores tracks de esta acometida. 
Personalmente recalcaría "Carthago Delenda Est", "Across the Wolf’s Blood" y "Scipio Indomitus Victor" por los siguientes motivos: 
 
Estos tipos saben como abrir un disco y con  "Carthago Delenda Est" lo demuestran con creces. Te aseguro que alzarás tus puños al aire. Si no es así plantéate que lo mismo lo tuyo no es la música radical tío. 
 
"Across the Wolf’s Blood" se podría definir con una palabra; ADICTIVA. El riff a una cuerda que nos regalan es espectacular. 
 
Como comentaba más arriba en "Scipio Indomitus Victor" se arriesgan y salen absolutamente airosos adjuntando unas guitarras más propias del Djent que de su estilo habitual.

 
Estos chicos demuestran personalidad. Añaden instantes poco usuales a su sonido y salen triunfantes, sin perder ni un ápice del salvajismo del género del cual hacen gala. Si no los conoces dales la oportunidad que merecen. Si por el contrarió ya los tienes fichados, sabes que quedarás satisfecho. Buen trabajo sí señor.

These bastards had made us believe that we could overcome. Their strategy was simple. They sent a series of small battalions which served to probe our forces. ADE is a Death Metal / Ancient Roman music band from Italy. They began their career in 2007. A year later released his first E.P. "Ultima Ratio" putting thus the first stones to create their reign of terror.

This new onslaught the Italians offer a work ambitious, full of good and constant fiddling of address in all the tunes, daring even with hints of Prog Djent in "Scipio Intomitus Victor". In my opinion, the best songs are "Carthago Delenda Est", "Across the Wolf’s Blood" and "Scipio Indomitus Victor" for the following reasons:

These guys know how to open a disc and "Carthago Delenda Est" show so far. I assure you that you want your fists in the air.

"Across the Wolf’s Blood" could be defined with one word; ADDICTIVE. The riff to a string is spectacular.

As I said above in "Scipio Indomitus Victor" risk and leave absolutely airy attaching a more typical of Djent than your usual style guitars.

These guys show personality. Add unusual moments to their sound and come out triumphant, without losing one iota of the savagery of the genre. If you don’t know them, give them the opportunity they deserve. If you know them, then you know that you will be satisfied. Good work
