Crítica: OverDoze – Supreme Dosage (2015)

Con la etiqueta de Thrash Metal, procedentes de Helsinki, Finlandia, nos llega el trabajo de la joven banda OverDoze. La banda está formada como power trío, ellos son: Valtteri Vuollekoski en la guitarra y voces, Markus Talka en la batería y Aleksi Apostolakis en el bajo.

Su trabajo de 2015, Supreme Dosage, es el responsable de estas líneas. En rasgos generales podemos encontrar destellos de buen thrash de la vieja escuela. Nada más lejos de la realidad, excelentes introducciones en cada tema, que poco a poco se diluyen en registros vocales sin alma, sin emoción. Personalmente no me transmiten esa magia necesaria en la música, ésta se vuelve lineal.

Treinta y cinco minutos, contenidos en 9 cortes; creo que la falta de experiencia, no ha logrado un trabajo más elaborado. Hay que ser conscientes del nivel actual del Thrash Metal; pienso que la propuesta de esta joven banda, con un mejor trabajo de post-producción, rescatando los mejores riffs y mejorando las transiciones para cambio de velocidad, se podría ofrecer un producto final que logre competir con la escena actual finesa y mundial, algo más contundente, que se quede en tu memoria con esa necesidad o ansiedad de volver a escuchar algún tema en especial.

A parte de la mayoría de intros de los temas, debo rescatar el interludio lento del séptimo track “The Last”, que curiosamente la transición para volver a la velocidad borra todo el buen trabajo destacado anteriormente. Y finalmente el tema que cierra esta obra, “And Beer For All” (instrumental), muestra que son capaces de lograr algo más. Es un tema que nuevamente algunos de los cambios de velocidad, dejan al oyente sin entender la finalidad de los mismos.

Espero que estas líneas hagan meditar la dirección que tome la banda, y nos sorprenda con un nuevo y depurado trabajo próximamente.

With the label of Thrash Metal, from Helsinki, Finland, comes the work of the young band OverDoze. The band is formed as a power trio, they are: Valtteri Vuollekoski on guitar and vocals, Markus Talka on drums and Aleksi Apostolakis on bass.

Its work of 2015, Supreme Dosage, is the responsible of these lines. In general we can find flashes of good old school thrash. Nothing is further from reality, excellent introductions on each subject, which are gradually diluted in vocal registers without a soul, no emotion. Personally not I transmitted that magic needed in the music, this is again linear.

Thirty-five minutes, contained in 9 cuts; I think that the lack of experience, not has accomplished a work more elaborate. There is to be aware of the level current of the Thrash Metal; I think that the proposal of this young band, with a better job of post-production, rescuing the best riffs and improving transitions for change of speed, it could provide a final product that able to compete with the current scene Finnish and worldwide, something stronger, that stays in your memory with this need or anxiety to hear something in particular.

The most part of track’s intro, transition must rescue the seventh track "The Last", curiously that slow interlude to return to speed erase all the good work previously featured. And finally the theme that closes this work, "And Beer For All" (instrumental), shows that they are able to achieve something more. It is an issue that again some speed changes, leave the listener without understanding the purpose thereof.

I hope that these lines do meditate it the direction that take the band, and surprising us with a new and refined work soon.
