Countless Skies es una banda de Death Melódico formada en el año 2009 bajo el nombre de Hatespire, en la ciudad de Hertfordshire, UK. En el año 2014, habiéndose ya cambiado de nombre, lanzan un EP titulado “Countless Skies” y en el 2016, concretamente el 24 de Junio, lanzaron su debut de larga duración llamado “New Dawn”.

Resulta innegable que Countless Skies se encuentran fuertemente influenciado por los australianos Be’lakor, ya que el nombre de la banda es una de sus canciones. Pero, afortunadamente, en “New Dawn” no nos vamos a encontrar con una copia exacta de la banda australiana.
Aunque el álbum debut de Countless Skies no inventa nada nuevo, si que suena con cierta frescura porque no solo han decidido estructurarlo con elementos del Death Melódico, sino que también se apuesta por añadir cierta épica Doom en algunas de sus atmósferas melancólicas y sombrías, debido a la inclusión de teclados, samples y a través de algunos momentos puntuales de voces limpias de corte dramático. Volviendo a los elementos propios del Death Melódico, por supuesto encontraremos grandes duelos armónicos y bellos solos de guitarra de la mano de James Pratt y Ross King, los cuales se convierten en prácticamente los protagonistas absolutos de este álbum. Pero no todo queda relegado a las guitarras, también es reseñable la sección rítmica, la cual se mueve entre el mid-tempo denso y el up-tempo, ayudando a generar ese puzzle de emociones que tan bien encaja. Además, los múltiples registros vocales terminan de perfeccionar el conjunto del sonido, incluyendo tanto voces guturales como voces limpias y susurros.
En definitiva, “New Dawn” es un álbum muy completo, brillantemente ejecutado, que te hará vivir un viaje lleno de sensaciones, desde la melancolía hasta la oscuridad o la euforia.

Countless Skies is a Melodic Death band formed in 2009 under the name of Hatespire, in the city of Hertfordshire, UK. In the year 2014, having is already changed of name, released an EP entitled "Countless Skies" and in the 2016, specifically on June 24th, released their debut L.P called "New Dawn".
It is undeniable that Countless Skies are strongly influenced by the Australian band, Be’lakor, since the name of the band is an of their songs. But, fortunately, in "New Dawn" we will not find an exact copy of the Australian band.
Although the debut album of Countless Skies does not invent anything new, if that sounds with certain freshness because they have not only decided to structure it with elements of Melodic Death, but it also is committed to add some epic Doom in some of their melancholy and gloomy atmospheres, due to the inclusion of keyboards, samples and through some specific moments of dramatic clean vocals. Returning to the elements of Melodic Death, of course we find great duels harmonics and beautiful guitar solos in the hands of James Pratt and Ross King, which become almost the absolute protagonists of this album. But not everything is relegated to guitars, also noteworthy is the rhythm section, which moves between the dense mid-tempo and up-tempo, helping to generate the puzzle of emotions that fits so well. In addition, multiple vocal registers end of perfecting the sound set, including both guttural vocals, clean vocals and whispers.
In conclusion, "New Dawn" is a very complete album, brilliantly executed that will make you live a journey full of new sensations, from melancholy to darkness or euphoria.
