Tenemos desde Villalba, Madrid, al cuarteto Firmam3nt, completamente instrumental. El grupo lo conforman: Jorge Santana, en la batería y percusión; Alberto García (Moshtrenco, As My World Burns), guitarras y sintetizadores; Txus Rosa (As My World Burns), Guitarras y sintetizadores; y Sergio González en el bajo. Ellos identifican sus composiciones como Metal Progresivo, Sludge y Crust. Citan como influencias a: Opeth, Mastodon, Steve Wilson, The Ocean, Porcupine Tree, Russian Circles, Pelican y Caspian.

La banda se formó en el verano de 2013. Su único propósito disfrutar creando música sin límites ni fronteras, la imaginación al poder, que fluya de forma espontánea, dando rienda suelta a las influencias existentes en sus cabezas. El resultado: temas largos, densos y enrevesados. Ellos te dan la bienvenida al Firmamento.

El trabajo está dividido en 4 actos que denotan los puntos cardinales; yo los considero 4 suites, en las que la más corta dura poco más de 8 minutos. Considero que desde que se creó la etiqueta “post”, musicalmente se rompieron todos los límites y ataduras, que en muchas ocasiones aturde a los puristas de tal o cual estilo musical. Para los que llevamos escuchando música mucho tiempo, esto era necesario. Y bandas como Firmam3nt dan aun más sentido a esta apertura musical. Logran mezclar todas las influencias, impregnando cada tema de versatilidad e ingenio, en cada cambio, logran dar matices a su composición sin encasillarse. Felicitación especial a la mezcla de sonidos, hay un equilibrio que permite apreciar los instrumentos y matices de cada evolución.

NORTH: la suite por autonomía, con sus 27 minutos de duración. Este es un tema que viaja por los sitios más obscuros, en los riffs, con el uso del doble bombo de forma imponente, sin saturar la melodía. Una genialidad, con el sonido del bajo soportando los arpegios. Solos de guitarra emotivos, preciosistas, ubicados de forma estratégica en los interludios y pasajes lentos, esto permite apreciar la capacidad compositiva, que es un don no al alcance de todos los músicos.

EAST: la estancia en el Firmamento más corta, enérgica, con los enrevesados arreglos propios de la banda. Logra explorar otros terrenos, con una batería y bajo agresivos, en ciertos pasajes; el deleite sensorial con las partes lentas, para adentrarnos de forma imperceptible en un nuevo pasaje obscuro e intrigante. Terminan en un estallido de vuelta a la composición contundente a partir del minuto cinco.

WEST: esta vez un arpegio de guitarra, se interrumpe, con un potente bajo sobre una batería marcando el camino. El sonido va evolucionando, entra en pasajes con complejos arreglos, en ningún momento se pierde esa aura densa y obscura, que da personalidad al sonido de la banda. Se logran pasajes contundentes, sin perder fluidez en las transiciones. Para que en la parte final dejarnos caer en un épico juego de redobles, que nos llevan a un escape del tema en plan Metal Progresivo de gran composición.

SOUTH: un corte intimista, de preciosista inicio. Poco a poco entra en arreglos que exigen la concentración para su ejecución. Otro inmenso tema, menos cargado de influencias Metal, pero arreglos más enrevesados, termina en el minuto 4:20 con un redoble interminable. Nos deja volver y pensar en el preciosista inicio del tema. Estalla en partes agresivas y te devuelve a la calma inicial. Hasta que en el minuto 10, vuelve al sonido obscuro, incluyendo el sonido de un piano, que finalmente despide solo este gran trabajo.

We have from Villalba, Madrid, the quartet Firmam3ent, completely instrumental. The group is made up: Jorge Santana, in the drums and percussion; Alberto García (Moshtrenco, As My World Burns), guitars and synthesizers; Txus pink (As My World Burns), guitars and synthesizers; and Sergio Gonzalez in the bass. They identify their compositions as progressive Metal, Sludge and Crust. Cite as influences a: Opeth, Mastodon, Steve Wilson, The Ocean, Porcupine Tree, Russian Circles, Pelican and Caspian.

The band was formed in the summer of 2013. Its sole purpose enjoy creating music without limits neither borders, the imagination to power, which flows spontaneously, giving free rein to the influences on their heads. The result: long, dense and convoluted issues. They welcome you to the Firmament.

The work is divided in 4 acts that denote the cardinal points; I consider them 4 suites, where the shortest lasts little more than 8 minutes. I consider that since it was created the label "post", musically broke all boundaries and ties, which often stuns purists of this or that musical style. For those who have been listening to music much time, this was necessary. And bands like Firmam3nt gives even more meaning to this musical opening. Reach to mix all the influences, impregnating each topic of versatility and ingenuity, in every change, manage to give nuances its composition without being enclosed. Special congratulations to the mix of sounds, there is a balance that allows us to appreciate the instruments and nuances of each evolution.

A genius, with the sound of the bass supporting those arpeggios. Emotional guitar solos, precious, located strategically in the interludes and slow passages, this allows to appreciate the compositional ability, which is a gift not within reach of all musicians.

EAST: the stay in the firmament shorter, energetic, with convoluted arrangements of the band. Manages to explore other lands, with a battery and bass aggressive, in certain passages; the sensory delight with the slow parts, to delve imperceptibly into a new dark and intriguing passage. End up in a pop of turned to the composition strong starting from the minute five.

WEST: this time a guitar arpeggio, is interrupted, with a powerful bass on drums setting the path. The sound evolves, enter passages with complex arrangements, at no time is lost that aura of dense and dark, giving personality to the sound of the band. SOUTH: an intimate court, of precious home. Gradually enter in arrangements that require the concentration for its execution. Another huge topic, less loaded of influences Metal, but arrangements more convoluted, ends in the minute 4:20 with an endless drum roll.
